How To Change Google Chrome’s Theme

How To Change Google Chrome’s ThemeChrome is a new browser of Google – the king of search engine. It inherits the simple and plain style like other Google products. However, that plain style sometimes makes us bored when using it hours. To change the mood or to make you computer friendlier, funnier, you can follow my tips to apply new theme for Chrome.

How To Change Google Chrome’s Theme

First, visit www.freechromethemes.com. There are many themes now for you to choose. After choosing a theme, you download from that site a compressed file  to your computer. Then, extract that file, you’ll get a file default.dll.

Next, find the theme folder of your Chrome browser. It is usually at C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application.2.149.27\Themes\ (suppose C is the drive letter you install Windows and User is the name of your Windows account).

Then, backup the default.dll file. Safety first, if applying new theme brings you some unforeseen errors when running Chrome, you can restore with this backup file.

After backing up, copy and overwrite the default.dll in this folder with the new file default.dll you’ve just downloaded from the site.

Then open Chrome and enjoy Chrome in a new theme.

Note: you shouldn’t open Chrome while doing these steps to avoid complications.
