By default, when you open Windows Explorer the Libraries category is initially what opens. If you want a different folder, such as the Documents folder, to open every time you open Windows Explorer, follow the steps in this post.
NOTE: This procedure applies per shortcut to Windows Explorer. If you use a shortcut to which you have not applied this change, it will act normally and open separate instances of Windows Explorer that will display separately on the Taskbar.
For this example, we will use two methods. We will create a new shortcut to Windows Explorer on the desktop that opens to the Documents folder rather than the Libraries. Using this method will preserve the original shortcut on the Taskbar. We will also change the Windows Explorer on the Taskbar, so you can see how to do it either way.
